So true. Especially when we realize God's love for us. Yes, it's wonderful to be loved by another person in your life and it makes life wonderful, but when we see His love for us... Doesn't it make life that much brighter?
I've been getting really excited for the movie Les Miserables to come out on Christmas day! I've never seen the play, but I've seen the 25th Anniversary Concert, and I thought it was amazing. To be honest though, I didn't understand what was supposed to have been happening because it was only the music, so I went on Wikipedia and looked up the synopsis. It's going to be sad, but it's going to be SO good!
The thing I'm looking forward to the most is the music. It's absolutely beautiful. There are songs that get me every time and make me want to cry or think or reflect. I'm a little nervous about how some of the songs will be handled by a few of the actors, but for the most part, I'm excited. Here are a few of my favorite songs:
#1: "Who Am I", sung by the character Jean Valjean. From the 25th Anniversary Concert, by Alfie Boe.
#2: "Bring Him Home", sung by the character Jean Valjean. From the 10th Anniversary Concert, by Colm Wilkinson. (Colm Wilkinson is the guy who played Jean Valjean in the original London West End production.)
#3: "I Dreamed a Dream", sung by the character Fantine. From the 25th Anniversary Concert, by Lea Salonga. (She sang for Mulan and Jasmine in Aladdin!)
One more!
#4: "On My Own", sung by the character Eponine. From the 25th Anniversary Concert, by Samantha Barks. (She's playing Eponine in the movie too, so I'm really excited for that!)
Now that you're all video-d out...
I gave the boys haircuts on Monday, I think it was. Andrew's had lots of haircuts, but this was David's very first haircut. Finally. Really, he's needed it cut for a while because the back of his hair was just getting ratty, but he still didn't have a whole lot of hair. It's funny - some moms get really worked up about cutting their baby's hair the first time because they just love their baby's hair, but I just want to cut it all off! Maybe I'll change my mind if I ever have a baby that doesn't have nappy hair in the back.
I didn't take a before picture, but here's what it looked like before:
Longer on top, longer and nappy in the back, almost no hair to be spoken of on the sides.
Short all over! He's pretty much a baldy again because I started cutting it all over a little too short...
Loooooong! Or, at least, long for him. It starts looking so scraggly after a while.
Day 19 - A list of all the places you've lived
There really haven't been a ton.
- Hilliard, Ohio.
- Rexburg, Idaho.
- Mountlake Terrace, Washington.
- Galloway, Ohio.
That's probably more than some people, really. But I grew up in Hilliard, lived in Rexburg for college, lived in Mountlake Terrace a few months when Jason and I got married, and now we live 15 minutes away from where I grew up while Jason gets his masters. Now, if you ask me how many times I've moved... that's a different story!
Secret: I think that as I've grown older, I've become claustrophobic - not around big crowds or anything, because that doesn't bother me, but I don't like it when I feel like things are too close to my face. Or when my kids climb all over me (it's sad, really). Or when Jason and I are sleeping facing each other and his breath hits my face, not because his breath stinks, but because it makes it feel like I'm not getting enough oxygen. Or when I can't get a sweater over my head fast enough. It's especially bad when I'm pregnant. When I'm pregnant, I have a hard time having the covers of the bed by my face, or wearing scarves in the winter, and I LOVE scarves.
