It's Ending...

Well, my friends, the end of the semester is growing near. Jason and I are constantly asking each other, "Are we really at the end?"

Jason graduates on Friday, and it really will be the end of an era for him, for me, for us. I've been here for the better part of the last 5 years. And on Saturday morning, when we're pulling out of Rexburg for good, I don't think it'll feel quite real.

As I've been saying for months, we've been slowly getting rid of things and packing things throughout the semester. Of course there's still a ton to do, but because we've been doing everything so slowly, it doesn't feel like "the end" should quite be here yet. I think it'll feel more real once we're packing up silverware and emptying our fridge. Or it might feel more real as we're driving out of Rexburg. Or it might randomly hit me 5 weeks down the road, as things like this sometimes do.

It's ending...

But then, with every ending, there's a beginning. We're going to two family reunions - one in Oregon, one in Utah - and then we're moving to Ohio. Jason's going to establish residency there, retake the LSAT in December after taking a prep course, and then applying to several different law schools (most of which are in the East). We'll live with my parents until Jason finds a job and earns enough money for us to move to our own apartment. And in February, we'll have another baby!

The rest of our lives - here we come!

I know the due date!

I went in to the doctor's today to see about baby #2. I probably wouldn't have come in again so soon, except that at the last appointment, I was so early on that they couldn't even see the baby in the gestational sack. Last time, they estimated that I was somewhere around 6 weeks.

They were pretty much right! Three weeks later, I am 8 weeks 5 days along, only 2 days short of what they guessed. That puts my due date at February 16th, 2011. We could have a Valentine's baby!

They gave me some pictures from the ultrasound, but because our printer/scanner/copier is pretty much busted, I can't upload them. :( It was pretty cute though. I asked the nurse what everything was (because it looked like a little blob at first...). She said that the baby was looking at us, with it's head on the left side of the picture. It had these two little blobs under the head that were the arms - my favorite part of the picture! Then there was the belly and little protruding legs and cord, with the yolk sac at the far right end. It's funny how that's all you need to see - a little blob that will become a person - to fall in love. <3

Since I can't post the ultrasound pictures, I'll post a picture from the babycenter website of what the baby should look like right around 2 days from now (sorry if it's too graphic for your taste):

Not a whole lot to say...

...but Jason took Andrew to the doctor on Tuesday for his 18-month check-up. I normally take him to those things, but I was feeling really crappy that day, so Jason took him.

Here are the stats:

Weight: 32.4 lbs (!!!!)

Height: 34 inches

Head: 20 inches

He's only grown half an inch since his 15-month appointment, and his head didn't grow at all (not that his head NEEDS to grow, it's already huge!), but he gained 3 1/2 pounds. My child is a chunker. I'm actually really surprised he gained that much because it isn't like he eats more than bread and crackers and cheese every day! We try to give him more, but most of the time he just pushes it away. I guess all the grains added up!

Just to show how huge he's become, the other day he found a coat that we used for him when he was first born. It's 0-3 month size, and when he was a baby, he drowned in it because it was so big on him. Well... take a look at it on him now, a year and a half later:

It's definitely not too big for him now!
