My Little Climber

I know I posted earlier, but I just had to tell you this:

Andrew has been really good at climbing things, ever since he figured out that he could. Today, this was just proven one more time.

Jason and I were in our room, both working on our computers, when Andrew started screaming from the kitchen. I thought, "It's ok, I'm sure he'll stop soon." (I'm such a nice mommy. :) ) He didn't stop crying, so I go to the kitchen, and he's in his high chair with both of his legs squished into one of the leg holes. I got him out, and asked Jason why Andrew was in the high chair. Jason said he hadn't put him in there.

What? Andrew climbed up and then into the high chair all by himself????

He's done it twice since then. It's kinda scary, but I'm amazed all the same.

If he does it again, I'll take pictures so you can see him in action! Crazy child!

Finally!

Ok. So I have a lot to say.

First is this: I haven't updated in forever because Jason and I went on vacation to Las Vegas! Jason's oldest sister, Holly, and her family live there, and we went down to visit. We had it all planned out where Katie and Steven, Jason's younger sister and her boyfriend, would meet us there last Wednesday, we'd visit their other sister Shauna in St. George for a few days, then be back in Rexburg this past Monday.

Well, Katie and Steven are fine, but they totaled the car they were driving. So we had to switch around our plans. Jason, Andrew and I flew home from Las Vegas on Thursday night instead. So we were there for a LONG time! And our internet was only just turned back on today. I didn't take many pictures, but I'll post what I took later.

Second is this: While in Las Vegas, Jason received an email from Ave Maria School of Law telling him that he's been accepted! We've turned in the letter of intent, so in mid-August, we'll be moving to Naples, Florida! We're really excited! Since we stayed in Las Vegas longer than expected, we were able to do lots of research on apartments in the area, and we're pretty much 100% decided on the apartment we want. Wow.

Third is this: I've decided to crack down and exercise 6 days a week, starting next Monday. Jason and I bought Wii Fit a month or so ago, plus we have The Biggest Loser Wii game, so I'll be switching which ones I do every day. I'm hoping to stick with this, doing it during Andrew's nap time, because according to my BMI, I'm supposed to lose somewhere around 20 lbs to be really healthy. Yikes! What I'm asking is this: anyone want to work out with me?

Ok. I think that's it. If I think of anything else, I'll let you know.

Naples, here we come!:

I'm for real this time...

We have our desktop back. For real this time! Nothing's going to break down this time! When we took it in to the shop last week(ish), they found the root of all the problems with the computer. It was the casing. So they switched it out. It used to look pretty much like this:

And now it looks like this:

Talk about a makeover! I think it's really ugly, mostly because it's this ugly cream color. I don't even like looking at it if I don't have to, but hey. It works now, right? Ugh.

Anyway, I just thought I'd let you know. Hurray!

Pictures from our Ohio Trip!

These are the pictures from the trip Andrew and I took to Ohio! Pretty much all of them are from the zoo, but oh well!


This was at the Salt Lake airport, right after our shuttle ride from Rexburg. We were sure happy to be out of the shuttle!


We stayed the night at my aunt and uncle's in Salt Lake because we took an early flight out of town. While we stayed, Andrew found a set of scriptures and started pretending like he was reading them!


We went to the zoo on a really nice, mid-60's weather day. We got there an hour before it closed, so we weren't able to see much, mostly just the animals from Australia and Africa. Andrew really liked the flamingos.


Around the zoo, there are all these playground areas for the kids, where the things to climb on are huge replicas of the animals in the zoo. He was too scared to get on the hammerhead shark!


I was surprised the Koalas were out.


Carrie got really excited about the Kangaroos!


The Kangaroos were literally feet away! Andrew loved trying to wander up close to them.




The Gorillas were really neat to watch, but really stinky to be around!

I loved going home. It was a lot of fun, especially knowing that it was the last time I would see Carrie for the next year and a half!

Plans

For anyone who knows me well, I like to plan WAY in advance what's going to be happening in my life. Like, years ahead. When I was in middle school, I knew what classes I was going to be taking in high school and what I wanted to go to college to study.

Unfortunately, when you plan that far in advance, sometimes things don't turn out the way you wanted them to. I did take all the planned classes in high school, and studied music education my freshman year of college. Then I decided I didn't like studying music as much as I thought I would. I was scared and nervous about what to do, because I hadn't planned for a backup major. I chose elementary education, because it was still in education like my former major, so it seemed safe.

Then I got married and had Andrew, my cute, chubby little boy. I would still have 4 more full-time semesters to go after he was born if I stayed with elementary education. So I switched again to get my associates in general studies so I could be done sooner.

This is the boy I stay home for, with a soul patch made of pizza sauce!

Now that I'm done with school, I'm finding it difficult to try not to plan the rest of our lives together. With Jason still being in school, he has a hard time looking past what needs to be done this week, let alone next year. I'm just glad that we have a tentative plan for where he'll be going to law school next year. *crossing our fingers it works out!*

Are any of you like me, where you feel the urge to plan out the rest of your life? Or maybe I'm just crazy?

I was just thinking about that.

As another sort of subject having to do with plans, Jason and I have plans to go out of town two times in the next little while. There's a mission reunion for Jason's mission this weekend, so we're going down to Salt Lake with a mission buddy on Friday, and watching conference with an aunt and uncle that live down there. Also, for the break between the semesters (WOO HOO!), we're going to Las Vegas and St. George to visit Jason's older sisters. I'm really excited. I've never been to either of their houses, and it's been since I was pregnant since I've seen our neice and nephew. It should be a fun couple of weeks.

Jason's working until midnight tonight (ugh!), so I've got the laptop to myself! I think I'm FINALLY going to upload the pictures I took from my trip to Ohio, so I'll probably end up posting those tonight or sometime in the next few days.
