It's been a little while?

I think I've been avoiding doing a post because I haven't uploaded the pictures from our trip onto the computer yet. Whoops. Oh well. Here comes one anyway.

The rest of our trip to Oregon/Washington was great. Jason got to see a lot of his friends from home that he's been missing, so that was really nice for him. Also, Andrew loved hanging out with Grandma McBride - Jason's mom, and she loved hanging out with him! I think that was my favorite part. I get to see how wonderful he is every day, but the rest of the family only gets to on special occasions. I'm glad she finally got to meet him.

Other family he met: Jason's brother Brent and his family (his wife Kiren and their kids Justin, Alyssa, and Aiden), and another brother Nathan and his fiance Jessica. So Andrew's met half of Jason's family: Momma McBride, Katie, Matt, Brent, and Nathan. All that's left is Jason's dad, Holly, Shauna and Paul. Hurray!

We got home on Saturday night, and school started up again on Monday. Jason has classes every day, and I have classes on Tuesday and Thursday. Yesterday wasn't too bad, actually. One of my classes is Intro to Physical Geography, which has always been of some interest to me, although I like cultural geography (like countries, peoples, etc.) better. My other class is the geography lab, which, if I get everything done before class, I technically don't even have to go to. I'll go anyway, just because I think I'd feel bad if I didn't, but I don't think it's going to be that bad either. I even have next week's lab halfway done! Easy peesy.

Ok, here's the real reason I decided to post an entry. I'm too excited to wait! Andrew can roll halfway over! He goes from lying on his back to rolling onto his left side, and I have a video of it! Here it is for your enjoyment:

Traveling

For the last several days, we have been on the move! Jason's mom and younger sister, Katie, came to visit us starting Thursday night. Katie just got back from her mission in Panama and wanted to visit some people, and neither Katie nor Jason's mom had met Andrew yet, so that was pretty special.

Saturday, we took off for Burley, Idaho, for the McBride family reunion. Jason's oldest uncle, Raymon, turned 80 (holy smokes!) on Saturday, so that was what it was all centered on. There was a reception in his honor, then we all ate dinner together at a Perkin's restaurant by the hotels most of us were staying in. It was really fun, and one cousin (a cousin of some sort or other) really LOVED Andrew. She kept taking pictures of him and loving on him. It was really cute.

On Easter Sunday, we drove to Boise to be with Jason's brother Matt and his family: his wife Carolyn and Joshua. We went to church with them, had an Easter egg hunt for Joshua - his first one! - ate lots of wonderful food, and then played all sorts of games until it was time for bed. I love spending time with family. :)

Today, we ate out for lunch with Matt's family + two of Jason's cousins I had never met before. It was really fun! The younger cousin, Tricia (I think that's how you spell it), REALLY reminded me of my younger sister Carrie. Not so much the personality, but how she looked. She seemed to have the same coloring and build as Carrie. It made me miss home a little bit.

Now we're at Grandma Nebeker's house in Oregon, and we'll continue on to Jason's hometown tomorrow. It'll be good to be back in the Seattle area. We lived there during the fall of 2007 after we got married, and we haven't been back since. Jason's looking forward to being home and seeing friends he hasn't seen for a while. It should be great.

My Little Kangaroo

When Andrew and I went to Ohio, I brought his Johnny Jump-Up with us. It's not bulky at all, so it was easy to fit in the suitcase. Andrew played in it a couple times while we were there, and he started figuring out that he could bounce himself around.

A day or two ago, he was playing in it here in the apartment, and he started actually jumping! He loves it! He has a hard time getting his legs to coordinate the jump together, so a lot of the time he's just bouncing from one leg to another, twirling himself around, but he LOVES it. I'm so glad we have it!

What a Big Boy!

Andrew and I jetted across the country for several days this last weekend. It was the first time he's ever flown on an airplane, and he did a really good job! He slept through almost the entirety of all four flights, there and back, and everyone on the flights were impressed with how well he did. Let me tell you, I was relieved when he did so well because I was just imagining all the horrible things that could happen since I was traveling by myself with him.... yikes.

Anyway, the trip to Ohio was great. My sisters got to see Andrew for the first time, and they loved him! Susette had a "conversation" that lasted for a good, oh... 45 minutes-ish, and Carrie just held him and played with him. It was awesome. Susette's graduation party was really fun, and I really enjoyed the time I spent there.

One thing that kept making me laugh was a scene that was repeated over and over while I was out there. It went something like this every time:

-"Wow, he's a really cute kid!"

-"Thank you!"

-"How old is he?"

-"3 months."

-"Wow, really? He's a BIG kid!"

Haha. Well, he is probably approaching the 16 lb mark by now. A week and a half ago he was 15 lbs 5 oz, so I wouldn't be too surprised.

We're back in Rexburg now, and we've been relaxing. Jason's had school and work since we've been back, and I'm exhausted from the trip, so the livingroom and stuff is just going to be messy for another day or two...

Grandma Budge helped Andrew fall asleep!
