I remembered! + 2 Month Appointment

"The only thing faster than the speed of thought is the speed of forgetfulness. Good thing we have other people to help us remember." -Vera Nazarian

I remember what I was going to say earlier!

Last night, Jason and I watched the movie Rebel Without a Cause for the first time. For all that I'd heard about it up until this point, it wasn't what I was expecting. I guess I hadn't heard anything, because I thought James Dean's character was going to be a huge rebel... without a reason for being one? Haha, I know, that sounds so silly, but it's true. Have you guys seen this movie? What did you think of it? I almost thought it was scary... things were so different back then!

And now we get to Austin's 2-month appointment!

My chubster turned 2 months old last Friday and had his checkup today. I don't trust the nurse's skills with her measuring tape, partly because she said his head hadn't grown at all (which I guess could be the case), but she measured him as being shorter this time than at his 1-month appointment. Yeah. I don't think so. BUT he did gain just over 2 pounds in one month, making him 13 lbs 1 1/2 oz, so he's growing quite nicely. Hurray! If you're curious how he stacks up to his older brothers, click HERE to see the blog entry about David's 2-month and his comparison to Andrew.

Cereal

"I like to use 'I Can't Believe it's Not Butter' on my toast in the morning, because sometimes when I eat breakfast, I like to be incredulous. How was breakfast? Unbelievable." -Demetri Martin

Oh, Hallelujah! Austin slept through the night! I feel marvelous! I still have a lot of sleep to catch up on, just because I've been waking up at least once every night for months, but man... That felt glorious!

As for breakfast this morning, I ate this:

It's Strawberry Yogurt O's from Trader Joe's. It is seriously good. Every time we go to Trader Joe's, we get three boxes of the stuff because it will all be gone in a matter of days. I always have to convince my boys to eat something else because 1. they will eat it all in a day if I let them, and 2. I'm selfish... So do yourself a favor the next time you go to Trader Joe's and get some!

I had something else I wanted to say, but I can't remember what it was... Man, I hate when that happens! Oh well. I'll probably come back later today anyway, because Austin has his 2-month appointment this afternoon. Yay!

Well, Hello There!

"My idea of Christmas, whether old-fashioned or modern, is very simple: loving others. Come to think of it, why do we have to wait for Christmas to do that?" -Bob Hope

I LOVE this time of year! Christmas, to me, (outside of Christ, of course) is all about the tree and its smell, baking cookies, building gingerbread houses, going caroling, the anticipation of someone opening a present you got them, and maybe even getting something you want and don't just need. It's about sweaters, eggnog, snuggling under blankets, and being with family.

Yep, I love it all! I'm so excited Christmas is almost here! It's my favorite! I just wish my house was cleaner so I could really decorate for it.

On a side note, we won't have a tree this year. :( We've had two artificial trees over the last three years, both SUPER old and in bad shape. We decided not to keep either of them, both because of lack of storage space and because they were seriously falling apart. Not cool. Since we're still having the space predicament and the fact that we're not going to be spending Christmas here anyway, we decided against a tree. Although, honestly, it probably won't quite feel like Christmas without one.

Onto a completely different topic - One Direction! They recently came out with their new album, and outside of a few (mostly toward the end of the regular album), I like most of the songs. A lot! They're really good. Hurray! P.S. I just read a book that totally gets my fangirling over boy bands, and if you're like me and love 1D, you should check it out. It's called American Girl on Saturn by Nikki Godwin. I know. Strange title. But a totally great book!

And just to round out this completely random entry, here's a picture of my baby. Because why not? He's darling!
