Andrew's 2-Year Checkup + Day 3

"A true friend is someone who thinks that you are a good egg even though he knows that you are slightly cracked." -Bernard Meltzer

Not only did I have a doctor's appointment yesterday, but Andrew *finally* had his 2-year-old checkup yesterday as well. I can't give you exact percentiles because they didn't give us that like they did in Rexburg, but I'll do my best! Here are Andrew's stats. He is:

  • 35 1/4 inches tall, so he's around the 80%, I think
  • 36 lbs!!!!! so he's around the 95%
  • 20-something inches around his head (I think they said something like 20 1/2?), and that's 95% or higher
  • Apparently for his BMI, he's in the 95% as well
So he's still my BIG boy!

They said they're not too concerned about his BMI because he still has a lot of growing to do, but that if he keeps gaining weight at the speed he is right now, they'll be worried about him in the future. Not exactly what you want to hear when you have a picky toddler! But she reassured me that she thinks he'll be just fine.

We also got everything worked out for when the baby is born - All I have to do is tell the people at the hospital who I want to take care of the baby, and voila! It's taken care of. When we had Andrew, we just went with whoever was on call! Fortunately, we ended up liking them, but Rexburg is quite different from Columbus!

Day 3 - A picture of you and your friends

Do you know what's sad? I'm not sure that I have any! Pictures of my friends, that is, not that I don't have any friends. I'll put up pictures of my family, because really, they're my very best friends.

I am friends with other people, I promise, I just don't have pictures of them...

Secret: I used to be really good at making friends when I was little - I made a lot of friends pretty quickly. Over the years, I had a few friends that hurt me, and now I have some issues making friends. I'm not bad at making good acquaintances, but close friends are really hard for me now. I only have one good friend from high school left that I see on a somewhat-regular basis, and I keep in contact with a few of my old room mates. Outside of my family though, I have a hard time letting people in.

  1. What do you mean, who takes care of the baby? You mean the nurse?

  2. I really REALLY wanted to comment on this post (fun background for Valentines by the way!) because I often feel like I don't have close friends (almost to the point where it feels like I just don't have the ability to have close friendships). So I don't always put forth the effort into creating and maintaining friendships that I should. For example you have been in Ohio for PLENTY of time for me and Kaelyn to visit you and Andrew. But have I? Um. No. And it's not even because I don't want to because I do. I just... haven't. Lame sauce. Anyway, this is turning into a novel....
